Rodríguez’s portraits honor the collective identity of Bayview. Inspired by the African philosophy of Ubuntu — “I am because we are” — the work reflects on unity and the ways our sense of self is shaped through one another. In a neighborhood long defined by change, these portraits invite recognition, empathy, and connection.
